Art Residency at Przerosl/Tuniszki (Upidamischken), near Suwalki, PL

Przerosl and surrounding area is still green, the air is fresh and inspiration comes from every corner my eye could possibility catch. Lots of people chose to settle down there and live near the nature…. trees and lakes….

Yet there are also many run down places and houses, which were abandoned by their owners long time ago, lots of memories buried in the past, history which shaped this region over the centuries, people from many nations who lived there and are gone…. forever…

During the Art Residency at prof. dr hab Jan Wiktor Sienkiewicz in Przerosl, I created series of four sculptures titled ‘Natenczas’. The inspiration came from visiting derelict house (below), which is located on the Polish border line (1422) and it used to be a house of officers of German border guard until 1945. The objects I used for creating the pieces I found around the house.
